The Fayetteville Film Fest Micheaux Award and Film Lab are designed to support and encourage the creation and authorship of Arkansas-based projects from Black, indigenous, and filmmakers of color. The Micheaux Award was named in honor of Oscar Micheaux – a founding father of American Black Cinema – who distributes up to $4000 per year in support of film projects at all stages of development.
