Screenwriter's Competition
A creative collaboration between FFF, Screenwriter’s Collective and The Screenwriter’s Development Group.
“Our goal is to spotlight the vibrant screenwriting community of Northwest Arkansas, showcase the winning work through hands-on demonstrations and workshops at the 2025 Fayetteville Film Fest, and provide writers with an opportunity to further develop and refine their craft.”

Keep in mind these dates as you prepare for this contest.
- May 1 - Submissions Open
- August 1 - Submissions Close
- August 15 - Final winner decided
- Sept. 18 - Staged Reading put on at The FFF
- Sept. 19/21 - Workshops and Demonstrations involving shooting a scene from the Screenplay happening throughout The Fayetteville Film Fest.



Rules of Competition
Writers of any age may submit up to two full length screenplays, 85-115 pages. Must be properly formatted in a .pdf. There will be a $50 entry fee to cover the cost of the event and prizes. Should be a script that could feasibly be shot in the State of Arkansas. Character Breakdown, Logline and Summary should also be included.
Competition Process
Judges from the Screenwriter’s Collective and Screenwriter’s Development Group and the FFF will be experienced writers, producers and directors. Judges will receive scripts as soon as they are submitted to give optimal reading time. Once narrowed down to 5 finalists, those 5 scripts will be handed off to the selected head judges for final decision. Head judges have professional backgrounds with fully produced screenplays with commercial distribution.

Professional pitch package and consultation with a production company on a business plan.
